When you smell the rotten egg smell of well water - that's hydrogen sulfide - and potassium permanganate can be used to reduce the smell.
Lovely - in large quanities it can be used to induce abortions and is classified as "Main hazards Oxidant (O), Harmful (Xn), Dangerous for the environment (N)"
??? I may not know how to read wikipedia chemical information...but this is why I am shopping for a reverse osmosis filter. Minneapolis will spend $200,000 telling us the water is fine.
